Elmhurst Memorial Hospital at a glance:
- 259 private inpatient rooms, all designed with the patient’s safety and privacy in mind – all identical, with 3 zones – one for caregivers, one for patients, one for family members.
- The second floor is the interventional platform, meaning high acuity services that work together are adjacent to each other, such as the operating rooms,cardiac cath lab and endoscopy. Smart adjacencies facilitate efficient communication between interventionalists and caregivers.
- Decentralized nursing stations all designed with the 90/5 rule, meaning 90% of what is needed to take care of a patient is within 5 seconds.
- A state-of-the-art Emergency Department featuring four pods that specialize in different areas of care such as pediatrics and trauma injuries. All ED rooms are private and include a bathroom. Each room has two entrances to ensure privacy, one for family members, one for staff.
- “Main Street” area along the first floor that includes a Walgreens, a floral shop, a Café, a Starbucks, a Resource Center and a Spa Boutique – providing comfort and convenience to our visitors and patients.
